Start

Ada is a dron operator and member of the Second Wind community. After a serious injury and a long recovery, she returned to the same combat position where she had served before her injury.

Анастасія «Ада» Саксман

Ada was wounded on 6 September 2024 on the Vuhledar front — the vehicle she was travelling in hit an anti-tank mine. Her left leg suffered traumatic amputation; doctors worked to save her right leg for a year. During this time, Ada underwent 13 operations, rehabilitation, and a difficult journey toward a new decision — amputation and prosthetics.

Team

Despite everything, she did not give up on an active life. Together with “Second Wind”, Ada made her first trip to the Carpathians after her injury and completed a 10 km mountain route with an elevation gain of over 600 metres.

“I loved an active lifestyle before my injury, so after it, little changed for me. This is my life, and I don’t want to spend it sitting on the couch.”

For Ada, Second Wind is a place among her own. People who understand each other without needing to explain.
